Met him in Aitutaki in the cook islands where we shared the small harbour with him and another cruising yacht for a few days.
he came to my 30th birthday party which we celebrated on the newly built quay,lovely old gent!

The first book I read was Icebird to the Antarctic.

No heating in those extremes. Damaged. Repaired. Remarkable.

The next book was the one with his two young daughters in a revolutionary (for its time) catamaran. If I remember correctly he had a hand in designing it. I liked the look of the boat.

Quite a tough man.
