Humm, yes there is a Chandler on the Quayside in Torquay, seems a small shop, (like all shops on Quayside), but found to be quite friendly and helpful. Car parking in the Multi Storey if you can?

There is also a Chandler in Brixham, often found advertising on Ebay, seems to be prospering and gets good reviews.

Teignmouth has a Small Chandler as part of the Teign Diving establishment, just off the 'Back Beach', stocks a lot of useful items. Local car parks and meters near by. Open most days as Diving Centred operates most days with trips.

Exeter has Bridger Marine, probably the largest around, not far from the Exeter Canal Basin, caters for Outboards, Ribs, Inflatables, Fishing craft, Navigation Equipment fenders etc. Shuts early Sat and Sunday.

Would suggest that each one needs a personal visit to asses there suitability for your requirements.

As per title, I'm new to the area and looking for recommendations for chandlers in the area. In particular I'm looking for a new anchor chain but otherwise just like to browse.

You made it then :)

The one in darthaven is well stocked and i've bought expensive stuff there at a competative price.
There is one in brixham that is hard to find. Walk right round the harbour from the marina and in the far corner go up the overgang steps. Keep climbing as far as you can go. When you come out onto a road you will see a park. Cross the park diagnally, corner to corner and you will see the chandlery.

Torquay - forget it. The tiny one beside the marina will do for the odd bits and pieces, but not much else.

Best locally to you is Bayside Marine in Brixham.

After that, there's Darthaven at Kingswear. The others are all pretty small and sparsely located.

Torquay ? Forget it ! No one in the town could supply me with a simple fuel filter.

Ah if its engine parts and you want a good Marine Engineering specialist in the wider Torbay area, suggest Pilkington Marine, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4AD, near the Town Quay in Forde Road. About 11 miles from Torquay.
They specialise in Marine Engines, parts, repairs, information, rebuilds and filters and gearbox oils etc.
