Top of the Tidal Thames

It’s time to move back to the Thames. I lived in Poplar Dock for a while over a decade ago, and now need to be back in London.

I fancy being in leafy West London this time, but can’t be done with all the regs and licencing which now seems to come with being upstream of Teddington Lock.

What’s it like in the Eel Pie Island / Richmond area? Can anyone recommend any places suitable for a (smart) 32’ liveaboard?

Proper residential moorings are very few and far between nowadays.

The guy you want is Mark Montgomery-Smith 020 8892 3626 (Mark Edwards is at Richmond Boathouse - also worth a call). I think he is out of the country delivering a barge at the mo but should be back in a few days.

You would have more chance here if you need to do some work on your boat.

Brentford is better than Chiswick ( it needs dredging but no one wants to spend the money).
