OK, we've shown you ours (MBY's Top 100, August issue, on sale now), now let's see yours.

What do you think are the Top 10 Best Boats ever built? Could you put in the Wally 118 and leave out the Hinkley Picnic Boat? Would the Fairline Turbo make your Top 10? Or a Pershing 88? And what about the Landau? Exactly!

So, let's see what the people's choice is. Over to you...

Suppose the Turbo 36 is a modern (ish) day classic. Personally I'd go for the Cunard Queen Mary 2, but with only 157,000hp on tap maybe slightly under powered.

What would be nice to see would be a top ten boats on the basis of a JD Power style user satisfaction survey. I know it's been discussed before on the forum, and it only seems to be in the States that such surveys exist.

How about picking ten of the most common cruisers, e.g. S28, F36, PV42, P40, Bw37, Br38, Fa36, FT37, some popular Sunseeker etc. and seeking owners that will complete a comprehensive check list survey.

I know it is done in part when an older model is reviewed, but that way it is not possible to compare 'like-for-like' from a brand point of view.

Princess 266 Riviera with twin 205hp petrols. Amazing handling, superb seakeeping, 40+ knot yet still reasonable accomodation, and great looks.

Fairline 36 Turbo. Bit of an old classic, the "Solent Sierra" in its day.

Windy 25/28. Awesome seakeeping, the ultimate dayboat/weekender.

Fairline 33 Targa (old shape) Slammy in a head sea but otherwise a superb layout and excellent cockpit/cabin compromise and well matched AQAD 41's giving 30+ knots

Princess 45 (old shape) Remember the Force 9 Plymouth - Solent MBM boat test?

Wellcraft Scarab: For living out the Miami Vice fantasies.

Princess V65. Just a stunning looking boat.

Riva Aquariva. As soon as I win that roll-over jackpot....

Sunseeker Tomahawk 37. Always had a soft spot.

Fairline Corniche/Princes 35. Why does no one build boats like this anymore? A proper flybridge shaft drive family boat.

Neither...we've done our list of the Top 100 Best Boats Ever in the August issue, and we were interested in whether the Mobo Chat panel concurred with our selections. The offer to put in a Readers Top 10 was merely an after-thought.

You cant have any list without the P32, Fairline Holiday and the starter boat of all time was little Shetlands.

Ah and HMS Ark Royal is not bad either.
