As the East Coast forum gains in popularity and activity , isn't it time we petitioned Dan Dan the moderator man for a bit of a promotion to the normal areas . It seems like we're tucked away in the cellar down here so do we want to ask for this forum to be moved closer to the mainstream forums so we don't have to keep telling people we're here . Or is everyone happy to remain out of sight down here ?
Opinions anybody ?

I agree.
The Thames forum is in the main group.
We have expanded from a meeting arranging place to much more.

We also seem to manage more meetings than all the other areas together /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You can say that again , I'll wait and see how many view things the same before contacting management , you never know , we may have some that feel it's better to stay down here

Us and Bristol make good bedfellows.

If we move up to the oity toity, we may get ideas above our station. Then someone will want to be Commodore, then we will have to have Royal status and have a defaced Burgee, then we will be vetting members for entry, then grand club premises.
Who knows where it will end.

I suggest we leave ourselves where we are. We seem to flourish as the bottom feeders.
Besides we are not far from the For Sale bargains, so its not all bad.

Perhaps one could suggest that the Thames Forum is moved down here with us. Oh what a ruckus and much harumphing!

[challenge churchill voice] oh yes [/challenge churchill voice]

A more visible position will, without fail, attract the riff-raff.
We've got a good thing going here, let's keep it that way.

I have visions of you sitting there doing your impression of that Churchill dog now /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

But I also see the point you're both making , maybe we're better off keeping our heads down /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif and any suggestion that the Thames and Bristol lot should be moved , er , nah , leave em alone /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But maybe others think we should still rise above our bottom feeder status , anyone ?

I preferred it back in the old position at the bottom of the section, then the Bristolians moved in and now out of habit I click on the bottom one and visit them then have to click back to get on here when i realise i'm in the wrong place - doh!

For me 'tis not a case of Too low down - Tis a case of not low down enough!

It would be nice if the forum software allow you to specify a few of the groups as favorites (maybe in the user options sections) that would show up first on the page for quick access.

I have put links to each of my favorite forums on the links tool bar in IE.
I don't look at the forum front page unless i want to go to another forum.

Good thinking Clive , although my favourites is already overloaded , so I'd have Scuttlebut , Mobo , Classic , East Coast , For Sale , Wanted , and the Lounge , all as extras , I'd be totally confused

I didn't know you were here until Flipper_K6354 told me. Until then I had spent all my time lurking in "Scuttlebut". Now I have got somewhere else to go when "Scuttlebut" gets a bit silly!
