Just wanted to say a big thank you to Tom (Mercuryman) from Tompa marine for service above and beyond yesterday. Fairways was due for a 9am lift back in, so I left home at 4am to get to Hamble Point. Got everything ready before the men turned up, sky was bright blue and the sea was flat. Really looking forward to a run out before heading back to Mercury.

Sure enough 9am comes and we are in the water. Started her up and promptly got an overheat. So once tied up I had a look at all the usual suspects but everything was as it should be. A quick call to Tom to see if I'd missed something obvious and the reply I got was 'don't touch anything, I'll finish the job I'm on and be with you in an hour or so'.

Sure enough come midday Tom appeared armed with a new thermostat and gaskets, saying he was certain that would be the culprit. 20 minutes later and sure enough we are running and maintaining normal temperature.

I still got my run out to sea and Fairways is back on her home berth, so the family can start to enjoy the new season.

Only bad thing to say was he nicked my cup a soup...... First thing I'd had since 3am!!

No connection just nice to get such good service and a genuine bloke too.
