We are keeping our fingers crossed for a nice w/e this week and contemplating visiting Tollesbury for the first time as a family (by boat) , one of the attractions is the swimming pool , can anyone say wether it is indeed still in use and can visitors use it , for example on sat pm after arrival ? ..

We have always used the pool as berth visitor kids loved it. Cant offer info re this year with our keel we may only get in on a couple of tides each year. Shame as we really loved visiting. The lads in the yard are great too, we had a week on the hard with cutlass bearing being fitted and they were great fun and looked after us brilliantly.
Enjoy the trip and stay.

Hi,

Speaking as a berth-holder at Tollesbury, yes, the swimming pool is open and accessible to visitors. Access is through the club house, just speak to whoever is behind the bar and they'll point you in the right direction. If outside bar hours the access code for the club house can be obtained from the chandlery/harbourmaster.

Don't forget to visit the Tollesbury Sailing club, which is open on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday from 12:00.

Beer is quite a bit cheaper, and you will get a warm welcome I am sure.

TSC certainly made me very welcome. A few years ago I was sailing a Topper in Tollesbury creek, and TSC were just about to start racing. Someone shouted to me "Are you racing"?, and I told them I was not a member of TSC, and he shouted back "that does not matter", and I joined in their race. They invited me back to the club house for a drink, but by then the tide was going out fast, and if I had not left very soon, I would not have been able to leave at all
