"just" noticed how much a whole blake/lavac system is.

if i fit a Jabsco, i will have to fit the pump in front /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, this will only allow use whilst sitting down, less messy. from the diagrams this seems possible, any thoughts?

also is it worth my while to re-seal the new fixed seals with sikkaflex to avoid possible leaks?
many thanks.

Which model Jabsco toilet (any toilet) will even allow you to fit the pump in front? I'm having a hard time visualizing how it can be done.

However, IMO you're better off biting the bullet and going for the Blake...buy it once, you're good for at least the next 10 years, even 20. You'll be lucky to get 5 years out a Jabsco.

Go for the Lavac manual, they last forever & are about the best ones on the market. Installation is flexible, in my boat the hand pump is on the after bulkhead of the compartment, as close to the boat side as possible & about shoulder height when sitting on the pan. It does prevent one falling asleep comfortably while on the loo!!!, but is out the way, works well & is accessible for maintenance (once a year so far!) The electric conversion is apparently very good, but so costly as to be prohibitive, and for the saving of a dozen or so pump strokes it is simply not worth it. Also why add to the electrical load needlessly?
Best of luck whichever system you go for.
Cheers
Mike

In the hope of eliminating any confusion...the Lavac is a Blake toilet. Just not their most expensive.

And btw, I agree with Mike that the manual Lavac is the only way to go. If you want an electric toilet, there are others that cost half as much and are actually better. However, when it comes to manual toilets, you can't beat anything Blake makes for quality.
