Can be achieved by stubbing your toe on the bedpost. It definitely goes black and comes off eventually.... I know I just did it. Should definitely have wrapped rubber round it.... preferably a slipper..

Mike's method doesn't always work, once pulled a football-sized rock down onto my toes from above head height while climbing in the Cuillin.

Very black toe, but nail stayed in place....

Steel toecaps would have helped, but probably not suitable for the bedroom.

Slippers dont work!!!!....

When I was rebuilding my boat engine I "rocked" a 6litre diesel engine whilst wearing slippers to remove the carpet that was trapped under it. The blighter pinched my big toe, black nail and then it dropped off....... Oh yeh! and loads of swearing that seemed to help the removal. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yeah! Don't half hurt dunnit? Did you drill a hole in yours to let the pressure out? I did.... Hurt like hell till I did that. My lady came home to see me trying to drill a hole in my big toe with a dremmel and thought I had gone raving mad!

A much easier way it to take a small drill bit and work back and forth between finger and thumb.... used to have to do this regularly when doing a bit of d i y.
