Took boat out on my own in the fog and dark but oil warning light came on? Checked oil before leaving so any ideas why. Seems fine to me.Oil level is still how it was ie. full on the dipstick.

which boat ? the super wizzy, or the raggy ? It might help if you could tell us the engine .

In both cases, if the oil level is OK, then the pressure sensor is trying to tell you something. Have you any means of attaching a pressure gauge to the system ?

these people have oil pressure test gauges. With the variety of motors at Chateau Csail, it might be worth talking to them about one with an adapter.

They are in Bristol anyway.

At what stage in the usage cycle did the warning light come on ? Is there a pressure gauge ? Any oil leak from the engine or the sensor pickup point ?

How long since the boat last used ? If a long time, then it could be a stuck pressure relief valve in the pump circuit.

Are you sure it was oil pressure? Lots of engines combine temperature and oil pressure. Maybe it is Temperature?
