How do you make toast on yer boat without a toaster?

Space is limited, so don't really want to buy a travel toaster, esp. as we wouldn't eat toast all the time. Is there a special gadget thing we could make that can make use of the stove?

Not the most exciting of posts I admit!! ....

Yes, but crumbs can get into the bilge area.

Very uncomfortable (so I'm told).

I used one of these reasonably successfully on a relatively powerfull Coleman stove top. When I switched to a gas unit it wasn't as good and I was looking for alternatives until SMBO pointed out the gas thingy had a grill................ /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.......this works really well!

We've got one of those, £2 in Range Warehouse in Cardiff. Works perfectly on the portable 1 burner cooker we bought /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Save money and buy from a caravan or camping place, rahter than a swindlery.

I got a taosting thingy from local caravan dealer for £2.50. Same item was £4.99 from swindlery.

Pre heat frying pan; place slice of bread on hot surface; after one minute turn over and repeat. Cuts out extra clutter if short on space. (You can use a frying pan to toast bread but you can't use a toaster to fry an egg! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

After You have fried the Bacon and Eggs (in Your non stick frying pan) wipe with a kitchen towel.
Whilst pouring the Coffe or Tea, lob some bread in the pan and fry on a lowish heat.
If You have "minted" the pan just drissle a little olive oil in there.
Lovely not too oily fried bread.
Garlic tainted oil is best.
Even sprinkle some grated cheese on top too.

Or when the Toast/ Fried bread is nearly ready, lob some butter on.
Saves trying to spread it when it,s lumpy!!
The butter I mean, not the Sea /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Absolute rubbish! It makes a mess and is inedible, but it can be done. 22 years in the army and I can assure you that I've seen every variation and attempt to produce hot food.
