I'd like to include a "marine bit" in my shows on 102.5 The Bridge, community radio in Stourbridge. Anyone local to Stourbridge who'd like to come and talk about themselves, Friday 16.00 to 19.00 or Sunday 07.00 to 11.00 please give me a pm shout.

Could also do it by phone on the day or in advance if you're not local enough. In advance would be best for the phone thing.

Or if you're on the Cut or on The Severn or Avon in Worcestershire or Warwickshire somewhere I could come and record on board. Temporary or permanent live-aboards would be interesting too.

Sounds like a great idea. I would like to know how you get on with it. I had started negotiations for a slot on Radio Verulam 102.6, but ceased when I discovered there was someone there that I couldn't work with. Will reconsider if & when they quit.

Community Radio, started January 4th, 102.5. I hesitate to say we're all amateurs, it's not quite true, top ten presenters have some formal training, work on other radio stations or have worked on other radio stations. I'm amazed at the quality of the output, there is a dip here and there, but as you drive up and down the country you will hear dozens of stations all sounding more or less boring, and I don't find myself bored listening to The Bridge!

Most radio stations are ruled by the 20 second music link, but at The Bridge presenters are expected to talk. I have heard some really bad community stuff but I must say the set-up at The Bridge is very professional, latest computer gear, hourly IRN news, well packaged, and the format rules have to be strictly adhered to.

Shall I bore you some more. No, perhaps not, but more volunteers are always needed so if you fancy a two or three hour show a week on the radio, come along. If you'd like to sit in on a show that's OK too.

Well I only ever really see the people who come before or after me at the handover. I don't have to work with anyone, but actually they're all a good bunch. A couple of ones I could live without, but not so it matters. The only time we get together is a bi monthly Presenters meeting. If I were you I'd go for it unless the person in question is the person in charge!

The boat was sold last August Bank Holiday, but I see she's up for sale again. There was nothing wrong with her so it must be another reason.

I'm thinking of buying again and there is a particular motor sailer I'd like, but, and this is daft since I'm unemployed and perhaps retired, I'm not sure I have the time! My brother has a boat on the Severn at Upton, but I find the river a bit boring.

On the broadcasting front I would like to do holiday relief. The money is too stupidly bad in radio for me to want a full-time commitment, but I do love it.
