A 22 centre console Mako with 'T'-top powered by two 85hp Yamaha outboard 2 stroke engines.
Friends like much bigger engines in a twin engine installation) like the 115hp's, the 150hp's the 200's and the 225's. I prefer getting on the plane throttling back and cruising along.

I have to get longer pitch propellors, since I do not need the oumph power to get the boat up and go onto the plane.

No, it is not me at the helm! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Powered by twin 90hp's Mercraps in the pic above.

Great boat. I grew up with my father's 23 foot Mako with 225 single engine and "get home". We used to go offshore 20-30 miles on East coast for tuna and shark. Always felt safe in any sea condition.

Rum_Pirate, I thought you were a yachtie? Nice pics, where taken? Are you still in the Caribbean?

The Mako's are used over here as well, popular game fishing trailer boats. I think the name inspires the fishing fraternity.

Had a bad run with Mercs?

As to the MOBO Pics in the earlier post, the first pic is at Cockleshell Bay St.Kitts a few years ago.
Second pic off Ballast Bay and third pic taken at Cockleshell Bay (Nevis in background) a few weeks ago.

Had a very bad experience with Mercraps. They are known as FRESH water engines around here. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kill cords might be an idea? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

However, looks fantastic, need to ship some of the environment to the Solent..

You are right. The kill cords were not attached that day, and the PFD's were taken off for the pics.

Not sure how to ship the some of the environment to the Solent. Send a tenner and I will enclose some sunshine in an envelope.

Lovely old yacht you sail on. That is one massive main.
Do the lazy jacks control the main as she is lowered, or does it end up in the drink?
I suppose if you have enough crew to help!!
Do the guys class race the yacht, or is she a one off?

[/ QUOTE ] KATE is a First Rule (1907) International Twelve Metre and was launched in 2007.

No lazy jacks to control the main as she is lowered. We make sure she is into the wind , on occassions (not many) some of the main touches water.

Working crew is often only 5 including the skipper.

We race Kate. In fact we (5 including the skipper) will do so next weekend (St.Maarten Statia, St.Kitts, St. Maarten)

For more info on Kate see here.

PS She is available for charter eg Antigua Classic sailing week etc or basic day/overnight cruising.
No I do not have any financial interest.
