To Change or Not to Change?

Thoughts please........

200 lts of diesel in a clean tank. Diesel is 3 years old at least but the tank is definitely clean and has been sat with little air gap. Fuel appears clean and bug-free.

Keep or change?

Diesel doesn't degrade like petrol. So long as its clean there's no reason not to use it imo.

Use it just make sure you had spare filters just incase. It should be fine I had a tank just about 1/10th the size 5 years old with same dilemma. The engine ran fine,

I am sure someone will offer to have it from you if you decide to change.

Keep. I suspect a small fraction of mine is 35 years old.....

I add bug treatment when I fill up, which is once or twice a year.

A large percentage of mine is 4 years old, the rest is 2 years. Engine ran fine when boat moved a month ago.

Thanks all. That was my thought too but consensus is always good. Not my boat, another delivery otherwise I might have been inviting bids for the fuel. Times are hard!

I think my diesel tank was last filled about 2016 with anti bug treatment added. Engine started and ran smoothly on this up to a couple of months ago when new owner took over.
