A few weeks ago I said I had a small weep around the keel box. Now boat is out of water further investigation shows wood around this structure is soaked and damaged, removal of keel box will be needed to investigate and repair. Has anyone dismantled the keel box? If so could you PM me and I will arrange to speak to you. Another point I have for consideration is to do away with the lifting keel so remove this keel box and its associated problems and install bilge keels. I only sail in light winds on fine days in poole harbour so don't need massive amounts of keel weight. Since being in Poole harbour I havent used the drop keel anyway. Does anyone have a bilge keel finesse which is out of the water that I could view?
