I have a 65 oil injected Suzuki, recently i am having problems with water in my carbs. A mate suggested that there are various makes of fuel additives available that will cure my dillema. Has anyone tried this solution only to find it a BIIIIIG mistake.

Thanks all for your comments

IMHO don't do it - little to gain, a lot to lose

a) none of the ususal suspects showed any significant POSITIVE impact when tested by engine experts

b) some of the cleaning stuff removes oil coke residuals that have built over time and that actually help to keep the compression - resulting occasionally in reduced performance post-cleaning !

Just have it properly maintained by Suzuki ?

Try to find the source of the water, however it may just be condensation in your tank. (keep it full when not in use). I have used a water removing treatment in my petrol tank with great success. Lots of steam for a short time and then lots of power.
