TMP hydraulic gearbox oil level (sorry, a bit dull I know).

Hi everyone.
I have possibly a daft question to ask on here, but my boat (Seamaster 30) has twin Perkins 4108's mated to TMP hydraulic gearboxes. I have just done an oil change on the gearboxes but don't know if the oil level on the dipstick should be checked just after I've shut the engine down and the gearbox is warm or when the engine/gearbox is cold.
I've checked the specs and TMP say 2.25 pints of SAE20 oil but as I've used a vacuum pump to suck the oil out I'm not sure how much is left in the bottom of the gearboxes (if any) and so don't know how much quantity to put back in.
Hence I really need to get the level correct on the dipstick. Thanks in anticipation of any answers....

Dan.

Thankyou sailorman for that. Unfortunately no where on that TMP site does it say wether the gearbox oil level should be checked hot or cold.
'Tis indeed a mystery...
