A problem has been developing for the last few trips. Ahead is fine, but reverse is a problem. The shaft rotates, but when the engine (Perkins 4108) is speeded up the "clutch" , for want of a better word slips. Any thoughts on how to over come the problem.

lost reverse mooring up in sines.the problem is probably the square seal iin the front half of the gearbox, full seal and gasket kit about 70 sqid.while you have the box apart replace the output bearing at the same time asit can affect the movement of the clutchs etc especially once the front half rebuilt.tmp very helpful,i rebuilt mine 6 weeks ago ,if you want any other advice pm me.
its not too bad a job to do looks more daunting in the manual, mind you not much choice for me as i was in portugal at the time, good luck
