I am having a spot of bother with the hot water. Although it gets nice and hot it doesnt take long for the water in the tank to cool down and its barely tepid in the morning. The calorifier is fairly recent and has a bonded insulation....very similar to a new one I fitted on a previous boat which kept water piping hot overnight.

Can the panel advise...?

Had same problem on previous boat powered by md 31,s the non turbo version. Make sure that the pipes dip down below the engine output and calorifier. You need if possible a "U" bend between calorifier and engine to break the syphon effect.

Tin baths never did retain the heat that well. Have you tried putting in a non return valve in, only a couple of quid from a plumbers merchant. They use them on water softners
