I am thinking about laying up ashore in Tichmarsh Marina at the end of this season.
Has anyone any experience of this? How close are the boats packed in? Is electricity freely available?
Any other comments?
Thanks
Martin

We've been there for ........well about 10 years.
We lay up roughly every other year. Yes they are close together and sometimes you have to climb over masts and general boatie stuff in the yard. However they are laid so that you can get to your boat with a carload of gear. If you ask for electricity when you are brought out they will attempt to put you close to one of the supply points. The electricity is freely available but not free.

Martin what keel configuration have you got, what is loa, and what is draft?? Reason for asking is that there is an excellent yard on the Colne IF you are less than 35' and draw less than 5'

Yes.

Ron Wyatt at Bedwells is a very good bloke. And if you belong to the club its handy for the bar. Was there for 12 years in a row would be there now if we had not moved house.

Thanks for all the replies
Blue chip is 37' and draws 6' so this limits our choice

At Tichmarsh how much gap is there between boats laid up? last year laid up at Port Solent we were so close we didn't even have room to use a polisher on the topsides.

Four years' experience with Titchmarsh Marina suggests you will get what you want. They are more then average responsive to special reequests, and I found them very nice folks. A phone call will lay your mind to rest.

Additonal benefit - one mile away is arguably the best F & Chips shop in SE England - try it and prove me right! Flaky cod and delicious chips - oh yes!
