Off tomorrow, yes I know its all over but my wife booked it....( and paid for it so thank you)

Small snack, picnic blanket and a visa card?

Anything else?

If you haven't been before, you can pre book a Nothe fort free timed ticket at a tent just after you enter, it's worth a visit.
Bar and food prices are surprisingly reasonably priced.

Cool thank you, looking forward to it having researched the whole Olympic thing for two years and not coming up with much (like many other commercial outfits!) still at least I get to go where several leading editors have not been!

Ooo and its Cowes week this weekend, anyone remember that!

Thanks for the hints and tips

you can get a seat just outside the official stand, and see the same view. So says someone there today. Oops!, sorry, You've already paid! :)

Nope I have not, the wife has... and the hotel was only 80 quid! I am quite looking forward to a truly British weekend by the seaside proper as in no boat..

A certain Editor watched Sundays race from where you describe!

Do not take a monopod to rest your binos/camera on! Don't ask how I know this. :o:mad:

Make sure if you take your own (empty) water bottle that the label (if not the sponsor's product) has been removed!

Be warned there is only one water tap.

Would suggest sandwiches as IMHO the food available within leaves a bit to be desired (and pricey)

Enjoy yourselves! :)

The Nothe Tavern for a small fee is providing storage for those items too large to take into the event, big umbrellas etc.
So far they have raised over £1500 for the RNLI

No mention was made of this when I deposited my "item" with them. :o I will send 'em a donation. :)

Oh and the Mount Pleasant Park & Ride is very good. But don't be too alarmed if you are using a satnav with old maps as you may end up thinking you are going across country! :D

Perfect thank you, parking sorted and I (should!) know the way.

In fairness I think fish and chips on the beach watching the big screen in the evening will be the best bit, weather permitting....

Then again a bit of match racing is always fun

Cheers
