I have inherited a small piece of the 1960s: a Regina Champ 110. I'm told that the diaphragm has failed and is irreplaceable. (I think this is part of the biscuit-shaped item which serves as a carburettor.) Anyone out there who knows this sort of engine? Is there really no likelihood of finding a spare part? But perhaps it would be no use even if it could be persuaded to run?

I don't know the name of the generator and wonder just how big the engine is. As said it may be a Briggs and Stratton being one of the few engine types using a diaghram in the "carburetor". In any case surely any carburettor of appropriate size with an adaptor will serve a petrol engine. Then of course you need to get the electrics working. In my experience generators tend to fail in the electrics due to vibration. So look for broken wires terminals etc. good luck olewill

Unless you were doing it up as a "vintage" gen-set wouldn't it be better to find something a bit more modern? I found a GMC 2 ST on the dump which I took it home and found the key-way had sheered. Once I repaired that it was a goer. But I know I can buy the same unit 2nd hand for $A60 (31 pound) on eBay . It supposedly is a 700W but maybe that would be the way to go on your boat?. (My yacht is 43ft and I am wondering about the usefulness of the unit as a backup)

Tiny generator truly defuncy

Hope this helps Stromberg carburetors used to fit diaphrams which was quite large perhaps you can make one out of ones of these.:encouragement:

If it is a small fuel pump.... have a look at the French Velosolex, they have a small diaphragm fuel pump. IIIC it is driven from the crank case vacuum - pressure. Quite cunning.... and typically French. It also used a carburettor without a float!!
