According to the weather maps, it looks like the lads will be turning right (a bit) today or tomorrow once they pick up the SW winds. Might get a bit blowy though!
I hope that depression will pass well to the North. Current plan is to head N until the wind veers and then adjust to NE until up to about 34N before heading E. We'll obvioulsy keep an eye on best lat over the coming days and route them N or S as appropriate
Anyway sorry for delay but here's the update 1650 yesterday (Sunday):

650 miles off the Bahamas, Parahandy lands Mahi mahi under a mackerel sky. Log entries record important events such as position, weather and fish status. So far ours had included comments like 'no fish yet', 'still no fish,' or 'got a nibble but obviously boat moving too fast.' But at 11.15 BST Parahandy's rod bent almost double - he'd hooked a big'un. There followed a titanic struggle. After 15 minutes the fish was tiring but Parahandy was knackered. Tcm tho had a suggestion. We were sailing at six and a half knots. 'If we put both engines full astern we can back up to him.' Which is what we did. It's about 15 lbs and 37 inches - and we've got the photos to prove it.
Hurrah! It's fish for lunch, fish for tea and er fish for breakfast too...
Position at 1300BST :23deg 52.4 N 62deg 22.55N Course approx 010 true. Wind 15-20kn ESE. Gradually swinging more east as wind veers. Boat speed 8.1 knots. W
Boatwise all fine now: Generator failed yesterday, impeller found faulty and replaced with spare by Pat, very good work. But these shd not fail on near-new boat for no obvious reason.
