Suggest a little doddle to Gravelines. First Class small marina and good welcome. Two nosheries: Cheap and cheerful at the marina cafe/restaurant,busy at lunchtime with locals - always a good sign.
For exquisite cuisine try Le Turbot in the town. Not cheap, in fact it is getting on for arm and leg, but as a treat it is marvellous.
Good cheap restaurants are getting more difficult to find in France. You could say that the national cuisine in France today is Steack-frites, and there are more MacDonalds in France than any other country in Europe. Incidentally, Macdonals are reputed to have wireless hot-spots for customers: some do -- any confirmations?
Incidentally, isn't this site getting a bit long in the tooth, like me?
Sad to say we have got ourselves stuck in the French canals for the winter (too complicated to explain how) with free moorings expensive electricity, but among nice people.
