I particularly like the way it works backwards clearly from the symptom to what the cause is, and how to fix it.

Not everyone is an engine god, and this is a handy cut-out and keep article to stay on the boat.

Was reading it last night, and thinking, if only every 'How to.....' article could follow a similar pattern. Well done, Tim.

Did he manage to write it without bleating about the DVLA or corrupt police, I wouldn't read his stuff while there are cereal packet sides still available for more entertainment.

Grossly unfair, IMHO.

One of the best articles for ages in YM. A different way of looking at the problem.

I think I will remember more from the article than my entire RYA diesel engine course.
