On my Sealine S23 I have what you'd call the flush mount throttle lever, as in it sits flush with the vertical wall of the cockpit (Sorry i've no pics) - Do you get my drift as to which one it is? It has the trim button on top of the lever (Where you grab it) and on the bottom left of the panel is the button you press to raise the leg totally.

Anyhow, the lever won't stick at WOT position. If I push it up, it slowly creeps back to about 3k RPM - no problem normally as I cruise around 3k rpm, but it's frustrating for the 5 odd minutes I do spent at WOT per trip.

The weird thing is that the tension in the lever is fine, it just won't hold at WOT.

1) Is it possible to tighten the tension?
2) Could it be something else? I'm about to go down to the boat to double check, but I Can't remember if it holds it's WOT position when the engine isin't running (hence it could be vibration etc. pulling it back)

Most throttle levers have a friction adjustment - it should be a small grub screw on the inside of the unit. If you have a plastic outer cover, you will need to take that off and have a scout about.

Throttle cover

the cover should just "pop" off, having said that, mine needed a blimming hefty tug and a screwdriver to prise it free.

I checked under the cover (The cover on the lever itself) but couldn't see any flippin tension adjuster :(

Internal!

U need to get to the mechanisam that the pivot arm goes into.....
It will be behind the bulkhead so u need to take bits off I guess?
There is a little screw that goes through the casting directly on top just where the shaft goes through the assembly....
This is the tensioner!

Cheers.

For the life of me today I couldn't see any screw/tensioner when I took out the whole unit... I must be going blind!
