What is the "window" to catch the north going tide up the Sound of Islay on Wednesday 4 July.

I plan to leave Glenarm about 2330 on Tuesday 3 July which if I remember correctly is about an hour and a half before HW which should give me the tide north. I had initially thought of Gigha but if the tide is right I could go further north.

I am in Edinburgh but the boat, almanacs and pilot books in Northern Ireland at present, thus the simple question.

Thanks in advance and good sailing

From my aged West Coast of Scotland Pilot (1974) the N-going stream begins at +0440 Oban (-0050 Dover) and the S-going at -0140 Oban (+0515 Dover).

Tides: Tue 3/7 Oban HW 20:53: Dover HW 13:57
Wed 4/7 Oban HW 09:03 & 21:36; Dover HW 02:19 & 14:38

Hope this helps,
David.
