Tide software free inc UK

Looks interesting.

Have you actually downloaded it and played with it yet ?

Waiting for your comments before I download.

have contacted NZ will inform you of outcome

If you had continued, it would have loaded anyway. Programme seems tied into major ports only. Port search is not intuitive (i.e. need to knpw where you are trying to get tide data) and everytime a new window opens (frequently) you get a pop-up asking for $20.

Just tried it for my area. The predictions seemed OK time wise, but the heights of HW today were 4m (yes - 4 metres!) less than UKHO. And I know who is right.

Think I shall stay with the alternatives

Re: You can\'t please em all Ian .....

Have used this http://www.wxtide32.com/ for a few years now. It seems fairly close to the almanac for the ports I use.

Re: You can\'t please em all Ian .....

Wtide is basically like a later version of it .... same table / graph - but with graphical map showing tide points.

I checked it against my other tide calcs ..... and they are close as always were ...... it is not an exact science anyway - so nearest 1/2 hr is accurate enough ....... reagrdless of what RYA YM or whatever says !!

Hmmm, same result as you. Can't be bothered to contact NZ. Seems to me this is a bit of a con. The link I posted earlier works with none of this nonsense.

O.K. Read the thread before posting. Mea culpa. It does install. I'll try a comparison with the earlier version over the weekend - judging by the forecast I'll have nothing better to do.

Like yourself I just cancelled the password and now have it downloaded to the system. Tried it on Leith- No Problems.

There is a password on the INSTALLATION phase of MDRTE. You should not download this part initially - you do not need it unless you plan to incorporate it into a program of your own. However, there are no passwords for downloading. Probably an Internet glitch - not me, anyway. Regards Phil

Still working so no time, to try it maybe over the weekend
