I'll put up pix when I've got them off the camera, the weir running backwards at Teddington. Lock was on freeflow. Per keeper the highest tide for 48 years.
Ht. of tide in Kingsbridge was quite interesting yesterday evening. A lot worse than the Sept. ones. Half of the Crabshell Inn's carpark was under water (pity the pub wasn't /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif>). Friend's ground floor was flooded up in town and the quayside footpath was impassable.
Ours rode it out fine but I had to spend hours fending off another boat that was trying to float up onto our carpark. Owner was in Portugal, lucky sod.
That's it for this year methinks.
On saturday afternoon the outgoing tide at Yarmouth was so strong it was dragging boats onto the ferry. HM had to stick a rope on a couple of RIBs that got pushed onto a raft of raggies moored right next to ferry and tow them off. I thought they were just incompetent until I saw the swirling waters at the entrance.
