idly reading thru chart corrections in PBO - 4 tidal turbines now in sound sanda. floating i think

from google;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evopod

they look like they are lit

its just that i've often been up for 24hrs by the time we get there...

they look to be N of the channel

anyone seen them yet? easy to miss?

Something was going to be placed in 20m water near Sound of Sanda at some point so that would make it around 0.5 - 1 nm from the shore as it is a lot deeper further out. I thought that Marine Scotland were still checking environmental aspects of the submission.

Pretty certain that they aren't deployed yet but don't know if it will be installed in 2013.

UPDATE: Looks as if it was supposed to be installed at the end of 2012. Press release on 4th Feb. said there is now a 7 year lease agreement to deploy and test from 2013.

I don't think that I usually went that close inshore but it is academic for me now as the boat will be in Spain for a while.

Hope they stop the daft wind turbines and focus on tide turbines - regular and predictable energy production.
