Thanks for your reply. I also use an Admiralty tidal stream atlas (a very old one - circa 1965) but recently have found mine to be a bit misleading at times and wondered if there were other information/publications available which provided more detail..

Very expensive but "Winning Tides" is excellent...but price will make your eyes water!

I use one called "Yacht Notes Coastal and Cross Channel" published by Highways Marine about 20 years ago. Based on Admiralty data and Portsmouth HW. Has always confirmed I ran aground at the right time!
