tidal speeds and directions data - a newbe question alert..

Hiyas,
A question about tidal stream speeds and directions.
Here in the uk we get annual books - hard copies - of tidal times, directions and speeds.

Being a softy digital kinda person, was looking at digital data or apps that offer - apart from tidal times - the speeds and directions too..

Just wondering whether I am yet to find an app with that data because of:
missing something.
such data comes with paid versions of apps.

Any illuminations?

Tides Planner

It's available in the Imray tides app and also in navionics

I recommend the paid for Imray app. The interface is terrible, but once you get your head around it, it has everything you need.

Used it for a three month UK circumnavigation this year, it was always spot on.

I also use the Imray Tide Planner. Simple and does what it says on the tin.

The free app gives tides for today and tomorrow but you can buy annual tide licences ( I don’t bother as you can get 7 days of tides from Easytide, the UKHO website).
Worth buying is the UK tidal stream add on with in the app for a fiver.

In addition to the other replies, they are also part of the cartography supplied for electronic chartplotters.

I prefer the way speed and direction are displayed by C-Map over Navionics, screenshots in this thread. In each case the icon can be pressed to show a graph of tide heights for the day, which is shown the same way for both kinds.

seems like perhaps sailing is a place bereft - or starved - by lack of free opensource apps? Its curious since, afaik, a fair bit of this data is public domain.. some even gathered by volunteers?
