I once met a man who kept his boat on a tidal mooring. he had no idea that tide tables were available so would drive down to the harbour with his family at weekends; if the boat was afloat they would sail, if not they would go for a walk instead.

Having read with interest the article on the rythmic variations in water level in Galway Bay and the initial conclusions and predictions I venture a simplar hypothesis. The water level changes are part of a EU strategy to harmonise sea levels throughout the community. The inital decsion to peg Mean Water Level to the US Base Datum was considered by many to be unwise as it is in turn, as you are probably aware, linked to the US Presidents alpha wave activity. Consequently the link with the lunar cycle can be readily explained.
