A generous bloke has turned paper tidal diamonds into a harmonix file which opencpn can read, so tidal height and set now available.

Not everywhere but quite a few..

OpenCPN%204.1.718_013_zpst0f1qy5h.png

I downloaded the 2 files

opencpn-harmonic.jpg

I took the .xls off the 1st file which became HARMONIC.IDX but I'm at a loss at what to do with the 2nd HARMONIC.xls

Can someone give me a dummies guide at what I should do please (running v4.0.0 on a mac)?

TIA

just leave it as HARMONIC with no suffix. Then save them somewhere ( I renamed them and put them with the other HARMONIC files), then in options|charts|tides and currents click the "add dataset" and select the file you just added.

Thanks for that.

I'm obviously doing something basically wrong. I removed the .xls on the file but it still uploads to opencpn (under currents) as an .xls file alongside the companion IDX file but it doesn't work.
I've got another Harmonic dataset (in a different file location) and that works fine - thats an IDX file plus a larger unix type file.

Never mind it's not a matter of life and death. :)
