For us poor people with no oven, is putting your hh electronics in a Ryvita tin any use, or would I be better reading a good book?

Or the oven. But don't put the oven on, it will be an alternative way of frying them.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes just as good. Any metal enclosure, not necessarily solid walls, will do the trick. Google for "Faraday cage" and read one or two of the results.
