After my recent experience with submerged Tent/Canopy remnants, leading to two damaged Bronze props and scoured antifouling, I have to admit to being impressed with NavGen and their claims procedures!

It took six photo's one estimate and ten minutes on the telephone to secure approval, and thanks too to Terry at Thames Marine (Bray) for his prompt and excellent service, she is now afloat with two recon props and complete new antifoul.

Highly recommended in both cases :encouragement:

I have managed to miss everything for eight years, but this was at Bray Lock! The steel which wrapped itself around the prop was so thick it had to be bolt-croppered off. Thats after it stalled both engines... :ambivalence:

£2200. Not big, but not insignificant in £££ terms. I suppose small compared to some Boat related claims though!!

Yup, £2200 for a small mention in a single thread in a rarely used forum like this is brilliant value.

I'm surprised Apple are not in here...

+1 to Nav and gen.

£12k claim in 2009. Sent surveyor down the day after my incident, agreed case for claim the same week after receiving and digesting his report.

During my work, parts were ordered direct from Princess during the repair and paid up front by me. As each invoice was received, I sent a copy to nav and gen and received a cheque back almost by return of post. Very quick, and never a dispute or argument from them during a six month repair. Bizarrely, my renewal premiums weren't affected either...

The most pleasing aspect was a genuine interest in my opinion - I argued it would be cheaper to transport the boat back from Ramsgate by road and get the work done by an engineer in Windsor (home mooring) as I knew the engineer and he had offered to do me a favour with labour costs. They agreed and footed the transport bill too!

I similarly found N&G very flexible with paying for my broken door repair costs-I self repaired the door, locks and hinges but they also covered my transport costs to do the repairs. Also very pleased with them!
