Thumbs up for Fox\'s

Say as you find. Booked boat in for new gooseneck, winch move and new cleats. Full detailed written estimate (£36 an hour labour), turned up Monday evening, work started by 0830 on Tuesday and finished by 1300 despite pouring rain. Friendly, helpful - full marks.

Visitors pontoon taken up by brand new Oyster 82 awaiting delivery - £4 million fully loaded /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif They've got a used one for £2.75m but once you've seen a new one.......

Re: Thumbs up for Fox\'s

We've always had great service from Fox's - was there earlier in the year and the harbourmaster (when asked) suggested that our best way off the pontoon was to reverse out between the two Oysters - one of which was the Blue 82 you saw - still being comissioned.

So no pressure then.

Simon

PS - did what he suggested but breathed out deeply when we were clear.

Re: Thumbs up for Fox\'s

Maybe, but I had a friend having a lot of work done there which ran weeks over schedule, coz every time Oyster wanted something done, the workforce would be pulled off onto that job. In the middle of his refurb, a brand new Oyster on delivery ran into a nav buoy off Felixstowe (autopilot x-linked to waypoints, apparently, and no one looking out of the window) and came back for urgent repairs. Mate's boat wasn't touched for a good while.

Always has good service from Fox's.
The rigging department are especially good.
Glad you had a good experience and took the time to mention it.
Too many folks have a moan but never give credit when it's due.
BTW, you may have recognised us as you went by. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
