Thse pesky ads are back

It seems to have just started. A big Mercedes ad right in the middle of the screen. I can not read posts as it seems to be parked over the first paragraph of every post and in fact also this screen for posting.
Is it peculiar to Linux/ Mozilla Firefox or universal.
The forum is just unusable (grumpy) olewill

Stops em dead and provides some very handy extras, the above if For IE also available for other browsers like FireFox and so on.

I see it some of the time but it seems to share its slot with a couple of other ads which don't expand . The Merc ad only expands when I run the mouse over it and shrinks again when the mouse is moved off or the X in the bottom corner is clicked.

Running Vista and IE7 with MacAfee. Web ad and popup blocking are disabled in MacAfee but popups are blocked on the Google toolbar.

I thought the ads weren't supposed to appear in the top bar if you were signed in. Or was it if you are in the lounge. However both circumstances occur. Perhaps because Dan has been otherwise engaged.
The advertising people obviously keep slipping them in, so that means the techies are in the ad manager's pocket, not on Dan's side.
Perhaps we should keep staring posts with Titles like "Mercedes Are Rubbish and VW Stink or "Lombard are Lousy".
Just to create a balance you understand.

Firefox also - no ads. the Tools/Options menu has a Content screen in which you can block all pop-ups

Should make them go away !

It's not there now, only appeared briefly on Tues eve.
