Through hulls

I am paritally re-bedding some though hulls, basically cleaning up the fitting inside the hull and resealing. Using Sikaflex, should I let the sealant go off a bit first after apllication before tightening up or just screw down once the sealant is in place?

We tighten them to about a quarter turn from fully tight, leave overnight then tighten fully.

When you do the final tweak up after it's gon off , be sure to turn the nut only, Turn the bolt and you could break it's seal.

Two of these are to be screwed down onto marine ply 'washers' and one onto a rubber washer, so they should not alter the sealant attachments.
