I'm aware that Isotherm offer a through hull fitting (which can replace an existing through hull fitting) which has an inbuilt heat exchanger coil, see here: http://isotherm-parts.com/asu-cooling-units-sp-cooled-c-4_10_61_67.html

A very attractive proposition to avoid adding another through hull just for the purpose of a keel cooler.

Does anybody know whether (and where) these through hull fittings can be purchased without buying an Isotherm kit?

TIA

got me thinking

sorry I cant answer your question but youve got me thinking ....

Could a refrigeration engineer simply re-plumb the coolant pipes from an existing air cooled compressor to a keel cooler or the device you have identified ?
Ive wanted to replace my air cooled fridge system but the cost of a keel cool system has put me off; but if I could just buy the keel cooler its a different level of expense.

I have recently purchased a Frigoboat air cooled unit on the basis that it can be upgraded to water cooling at a future date. I think it is simply a matter of redirecting the coolant to the keel cooler unit. So I think yes is the answer to your question.

I wasn't keen to cut another hole in the hull for the keel cooler unit but having been made aware of this galley seacock device it makes the conversion much more attractive. I probably won't bother doing until I'm headed south as the air cooler works well at our latitude!
