Some help please, a few questions.

We are thinking about possibly upgrading our throttle system to electronic ones, they seemed to be on loads of boats at the show and look like a good idea.

We have twin volvo's and a flybridge, so there are two control points that will need changed. Also they are combined throttle and gear engaged levers.

1. Where do you get them and how much?

2. Are they something that can easily be self installed?

3. Can you use the exsisting cable system from the engine to the linkage mech in the engine room?

4. What are they like?

Thanks in advance..... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Look at Vetus. They do hydraulic ones which I believe would be more robust.

We were considering the same thing for a single station, were then recommended by a dutch vetus dealer to install the top grade morse supreme cable instead. (6mtr runs with tightish bends in the engine room)

made such a difference, now would definately not consider changing for an electrical system. at the same time fitted the morse isolation bushes to negate sound transmission up the cable)

good luck

Thanks guys for the replies, had a phone round and it is huuuuuge money to move across to eletrical so we are probably going to stick with our cable system.
