Mrs telford_mike bought me a copy of this slim tome - it proved an entertaining diversion during a few snowy afternoons this week when there was little else to do.
Chris has an easy, almost laconic style which makes for an undemanding and releaxing read. His humour is more restrained than that of say, Bill Bryson, but is ever-present nonetheless. This particular chapter of the author's life sees him flee his job as a shepherd in favour of a summer skippering a cornish crabber in Greece. Having no sailing experience at all, this give rise to some predictable but no less amusing anecdotes. Having survived this, he embarks on a trip to Newfoundland via Norway and Iceland with none other than Tom Cunliffe and his family.
Lightweight and easy-going stuff - just the job on a gloomy winters afternoon.
