Picked up the log book off the boat today and have updated Three Point Fix with Karouise's 2010 season.

Summary:
36 passages at average speed of 4.6kts 'sailing' 1073nm.

On top of that I have sailed about 130 nm in Victoria 34s in Solent and 240 nm in HR34 in Baltic.

Final distance for year is 1443 nm in sailing boats (have not included dark side distance in grey things)

Not a bad season!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Superb Peter!

Noticed your flurry of passages appearing....

Some funky new features hopefully going live tomorrow...

...and an unbelievable 424 locations added now!

You are now a victim of your success, as I am being picky.

Any chance of putting identity information in your header so that when I save 3PF to my toolbar, your snazzy little avatar goes with it?

Jim, do you mean the little sail icon?

If so, then its should already appear alongside any saved links, or in the browser tabs etc.. i've just checked and its working here on Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome

or have I missed the point?

You have mail. With a picture cos I'm fick.

After a bit of research, it appears that unfortunately its a Firefox problem, so not one I can do anything about...

Its a message for SSL based sites that says that the site only has a standard SSL certificate... the reason you are seeing it is because of the SSL communications between TPF! and Facebook to associate the accounts...

Firefox have worded it VERY badly, and it doesn't actually say what it means at all...

Even Google has the same problem with it on parts of their site!

If you got to the TPF home page, about half way down on the left hand side is a link to get you the code to add to your signature

To make friends, simply visit the persons profile page (use the search facility to find them if you need to - click on anywhere in the site that their name is a link) and on that page you'll see a link to 'request a friendship'

Hope that helps!

PS... i'll add this to the 'how do I?' on the site

I haven't looked at the site for a while, terrific improvements, well done.

I have added a couple of edits, one minor error I noticed was that the "pin" marking "The Rocks" on the Deben is a long way from the correct location. How can I edit it? The correct location is 52deg 02.17'N 001deg 20.83'E

Hurrow TechnoBimbo!

To link to facebook

Logout, and then go to the login page... choose the option to login using facebook, and follow the instructions... (make sure that the PC you are using is either logged into your facebook account or not logged into facebook first)... once you've followed the instructions, you'll have 'associated' your TPF! and facebook accounts.

To then share logbook entries, you'll need to go to your personal settings page for 'manage auto posting' and select 'allow'... this will prompt you to give the neccessary permissions to facebook for TPF to post things to your wall... and hey presto... every logbook entry from then on will magically appear in your facebook feed! (until you select deny again, or remove TPF permissions from within facebook, or change your facebook password)
