Anyone else enjoy this last night? It features Griff Rhys Jones and his two pals from the last 'Tree men in a boat' which was a reenactment of the book. This time they are sailing from London round to IoW in Griff's Undina to race against her sistership, Josephine (both 45ft sloops, 50s vintage). It's good stuff, and the concluding episode (it's a two-parter) is on tonight. Much hilarity about how 'crap' old wooden classics are compared to modern boats with all their luxuries!

The issue about how much the luxury GRP yacht was for sale at compared to the cost of what GRJ spent on varnish struck home here as well; when you realise how much you've spent on your small wooden boat and what you could have bought with that money!

I'd like to think that he wields his own varnish brush but ...... However, what a nice boat. If you want to see more of her bottom (!) there's a great picture of her broaching on page 45 in the October CB.
I've got the recorder set for tonight.

I can tell you he does wield his own brush. I had a yarn with him at foxes marina whilst I was putting the finishing touches to a Robert C 45' before a trans at in 92, Nice bloke and knowlageable
