I urgently need access to some information about my Mini M satphone, the Thrane & Thrane TT-3064A, which is the marine version branded 'Capsat'. The same model is now being distributed by Sailor.

I am unable to connect and my service provider has spent all week telling me that there is a call bar that they are trying to lift. Today, their out of hours service tells me that there is definitely no call barring on my account but could I kindly move my yacht a few miles to see if there is a line-of-sight problem /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Since the kit can see three satellites (AORW, AORE and IOR) with five bars of signal (maximum), moving the yacht seems as pointless as it difficult, when rafted inside four other boats on the river Tiber.

According the the T&T User Manual, there are a number of menu items that give sufficient details to an engineer to diagnose almost any problem....RF Block, etc., which gives specific signal levels and diagnostics. Unfortunately, the User Manual does not give any diagnostic information on this and the service provider (AST Telecommunications) is without any information whatsoever...they don't know anything about the phone at all /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can anyone tell me where to find a T & T (or Sailor) manual that will give me the diagnostic information I need, or does anyone have a manual and could tell me what is in those sections?

Seeing as Mini M is supposed to be part of the GMDSS system and safety and distress working is its key selling proposition, to have been left with a failed system since the 10th April seems quite incredible. Any of you who were thinking of buying such a system ought to reconsider. The guilty parties in my case include.......

Inmarsat
Stratos
AST Telecommunications
Thrane & Thrane

Their staff are, in my opinion, untrained, lazy, incompetent and disinterested.

Yes, that's the one...slightly different page numbering in my copy but I can't see any differences in the text. I have a C/No of 50 dBHz which looks very good but under Transmitter Frequency and Transmitter Level I get 'not available'. One of the suggested reasons for MES time-out is a Tx failure but it also seems that the Tx doesn't Tx unless it has 'permission' from the MES? Without a system overview I am working entirely in the dark. There is a wealth of information available from the keypad but I haven't a clue what it means and the monkeys at AST don't even know that it is there, let alone what it means /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I have set my time out to the maximum of 300 seconds and that has made no difference. I have tried AORW, AORE and IOR. I have tried using the spot beam feature.

You should be able to open a terminal window on your laptop running the software supplied by T&T. from there you should be able to see if you are logged in or not. You can also see which area you are logging in to.

Can you receive calls? (assumingyou ever did).

Try phoning your airtime supplier and asking to speak to the accounts dept (money) and see if your account has been put on stop. Try threatening them with changing suppliers, that usually makes them sort the problem.

Something I have to do with commercial vessels from time to time and usually easily resolved once you make the right noises.

Mini-M TT-3064A - Error Code 1641h / Platform Error

Hello,

I got a problem with this new mini-M TT3064 on my boat.

Please help provide assistance to troubleshoot the error that I have encountered.

The signal bar range from 4 to 5 consistently and the C/N: 45.8dBHz. The antenna is installed free from obstruction with 360 degree clear view, no magnetic equipment within 5 metres radius and antenna mounted on aluminium stand with rubber mat insulated between metal and antenna. The cable used between antenna and below deck equipment (transciver) is Belden RG214 and distance of 30 metre.

Fault Sympton:
Whenever a call is make, phone show momentarily connection and then goes into " Platform Error " and Casue code 1641h, after pressing the OK button, the handset screen shows it goes into initialisation for a while, then back to normal signal bar (strength) of 4 to 5.

Perform autocompensation and manual override per install manual also not much help.

Using IOR and POR also havng same problem.

Please help provide advice to resolve the problem. Thank you very much.

Best Regards
Gary
