Seeing as the T95 is just a marinised plant engine where can I get cheaper parts from? Going through spares box yesterday and the temp sender alone was £50!

Take your old one to a motor factors and ask them to match it up. The Mitsubishi one was circa £80 and my motor spares shop was £11. Neither source however could get me anything other than 100 deg sender which wasn't really what I wanted. AMC were around £50 as I recall and also 100 deg. Phil

I'll try that tomorrow. What temp should it be rated at?

The max for this engine is 99 deg with a 7 psi coolant cap and under 60 deg is bad for the engine. Mine typically runs at 85 so I was looking for a 90 or 95 sender. But could only get 100deg. Or it might have even been 105?? . Can't remember now but with the gauge as well I"m reasonably happy. P

Forget to say ... The base T95 engine is a mitsubishi S4L. If you can find a fork lift truck dealer or similar selling cheap spares let me know !

Here is a reply from one supplier.Apart from the cost surely the temp is too high? The damage would be done by then?

We have a choice of x2 as fitted to the S4L/S4L2 engine:

· MM432104 at £59.27 each ex-vat/carriage (111 deg c trip)- std application

· MC880901 at £127.64 each ex-vat/carriage (105 deg c trip)- Vetus specification

Yep, its annoying but I guess as the sender is in the thermostat housing, if you catch it quickly you'll still have plenty of coolant left. The cost is another thing. P

Tried almost every motor factor and plant specialists and still can't find one identical.Might be cheaper to take the housing somewhere and get the hole bored out and tapped to accept a cheaper/easily available switch.
