T90 Thornycroft BMC 1.5 35hp Diesel Engine. Engine oil change now required (oh... overdue then!)

Anybody have any info on this engine type? I went to the Thornycroft site but couldn't find any spec on their older engines. Much appreciated if anyone can help

Cheers

The book says a multi-grade conforming to MIL-L-20104B with a viscosity of 10W30 or 10W40.
However, for an older T90 (and aren't they all) I would go for 15W40. I have been using Lidl's finest for as long as its been available.
Its cheap enough to justify halving the running time before a change.

When I had one of these engines Thorneycroft tech department recommended I use 20/50 from Wilkinson's (Wilko) as this was the cheapest they knew of and it was perfectly suitable. Don't know if Wilkinson's still sell it - it was about four years ago - but it was certainly cheap!
