A funny thing happened on my way to...... Not funny in fact, a few minutes bum twitching. Motoring into head wind with around 20 miles to go on a not too friendly coast, SWMBO came up from below reporting a strange sound from the engine. Opening up the engine bay, a strange "tinkling" sound evident at around 2000 revs but quiet at low revs. Couldn't find anything loose and sound appeared to be coming from the rocker box, not good:confused: Turned out the engine lifting bracket had sheared off and was resting on the heat exchanger. It was mounted with a single bolt in the middle hole but broke across the top unused hole. Engine has done 370 hours and I guess unfelt vibration has caused fracture across badly designed bracket.
