Alex Thomson has broken the 24hr record in the Defi. He's in the lead now which bearing in mind this is his first race alone on that boat is nothing short of fantastic!!!!

A new star is born methinks!

I likle the quote "I've had a bit of bad luck, but on the whole it has been really good. And I am still making a lot of mistakes. It is so nice for me to be able to think that with all the mistakes I am making I can be quick."

Gawd save him when he irons the mistakes out really gets up to speed.

My favourite quote was

"The cockpit was regularly full of water and Thomson said that this had in fact been a benefit because it helped keep the bow out! "

He'll be plugging up the drains next... :)
