I bought a boat to reduce my stress but all it seems to have done is increase it. Last week was no fun. I am on a rather challenging project at work right now so having to also remotely project manage relocation of the boat to a new yard in just a couple of days was something I could have done without!

As usual, formites came to my aid with advice and offers of help. JFM's reminder at a critical point of what was really important was key to getting all my property properly secured before the weekend. Our claims handler was also really helpful and agreed an inspection of the work performed in the final invoice and arranged for it to be paid to the liquidator in less than a day. This was vital to get permission to move the engines to safety. As usual, it was down to the wire with permission to move the engines coming just minutes before the boat yard staff would have knocked off for the weekend.

SWMBO made a visit to our boat last Thursday evening and witnessed the sad sight of scrap metal dealers taking everything not bolted down from the 'old' repairers shed. She stood guard over our engines until they had left not just because they may have taken them but in case anything fell on them as scrap engines etc. were being lifted onto their lorry.

Next week I hope I will get the view of the new yard about the remaining work and likely timescales to complete it. I have my fingers crossed that the delay won't be too long and that the claims handler will agree to this quickly. When I spoke to him last week he did say that he has had a lot of dealings with the new yard and that they were very fast as getting boats repaired, so hopefully not another year's wait.

Sounds very trying. I hope you get a rapid sollution now, and get out and about. I was hoping to be onboard Rafiki today, but the weather is just too poor.
